The Second Grade Blasts off into Space!

At the beginning of the school year, the entire 2nd grade did an in-depth unit study on space.  We researched planets (there are only 8 by the way), we made and shared very creative projects including a powerpoint, models of the solar system, alien masks, posters, satellites, and informative "sun" boxes.  We ate banana rockets, visited the Huntsville Space and Rocket center, read a variety of literature about the solar system, illustrated space jokes, tryed on a real astronaut uniform, and kept research notes in a space booklet. We learned a lot and had fun in the process.  Ask your child if they can remember the way to remember the order of the planets!!!
